NEW YORK YACHT CLUB
A beautiful, waterfront, private residence came onto the market in Newport, Rhode Island and the New York Yacht Club determined this was a perfect secondary clubhouse for its membership. The main clubhouse is located on the interior of Manhattan Island on 44th Street. Working with the Commodore and the Building and Grounds committee, we were asked to develop a master plan of the property showing new access roads to the dock, parking at various locations for the membership and various locations for new venues to be added to the facility, including tennis courts, greenhouse, band shell, garden and path system, swimming pool, junior clubhouse, racing offices with lockers, showers and laundry, dock facilities including an area for launch pickup/drop-off, etc. The main building was re-classified from residential to a public meeting facility which required a new sprinkler system, new kitchen, and conversion of 25+ rooms into hotel rooms for the membership.
